Overview:
The objective of the Manitoba Forage Seed Association is the advancement of the forage seed industry in all aspects. Although MFSA is involved in lobby on behalf of forage seed producers in areas of concern such as Safety Net Programs, Policy Development our primary focus is to undertake practical industry driven projects to address production and development issues facing the forage seed industry. The cost of conducting valuable research and other services is costly. To ensure our goals are met, on July 1, 1996 a Forage Seed Check-off was put in place. This Check-off is used to leverage additional funding for research. It is mandatory that all seed trade purchasers deduct 1% t from all forage seed sales. The maximum deduction per grower is $750.
