Goal: To introduce mainstream and organic producers to the market opportunities for organic forage seed. Growers will learn from Martin Entz and Douglas Cattani of the University of Manitoba and from experienced organic forage seed growers what it takes to grow high quality, weed free forage for seed. They will also learn about the markets for this crop from MAFRI’s organic marketing specialist and from Paul Gregory, owner of Interlake Forage Seeds, Canada’s largest organic forage seed buyer.

Date: April 16, 2012, registration begins at 9 am and the workshop starts at 10 am.
